Are all your new chicks from the same flock, or will you be mixing your sweetie with 2 other flocks? I didn't know if the bantam/cochin and 2 mo old pullet are one mix...or all coming from the same person.
I am sure "Tammy the chicken queen" will know a LOT about integrating your birds.
Mine are only 4 months and have all been together since day one. Glad you found some breeds that sound like a good blend.

ha ha They are all from the same person, the two month old is outside already, I do not know about the bantam...she is supposed to be three weeks old, and the three ee chicks are still inside, but they are all from the same person.

The young chicks will still need a heat lamp until about 6 weeks old. But with colder temps moving in already, they will probably need the heat lamp even after you move them outside, just as a little comfort until they are acclimated to outside temps.
I always quarantine new birds 4 weeks. Your area might be free from all health hazards and the new birds might be free from any health concerns but a new bird coming in doesn't have immunity to you area. It's kind of like living in 70 weather all the time, then moving into 40 weather, there's no disease there but the change can cause colds, etc.
While in quarantine, watch for any changes in behavior and eating, and check for parasites. Yours could be free from parasites but a new bird that has them can cause a big infestation in no time.
Don't be alarmed if at first they seem to be withdrawn and stay to themselves, that is common when they're in a new place. They should start moving and acting normal within a week. Remember, a change in numbers, environment does cause stress, most overcome and adjust with no problem, but others don't handle the change as well.
When you integrate the 2 month old with Waffle, Waffle will probably peck and be bossy, that's just part of the pecking order routine, don't worry about it unless there is a serious fight with bloodshed.
Good luck with all this, I'm glad you found some birds locally!

So She e-mailed me back, and she still has the chickens available. I also e-mailed my local ACO, and she told me that as long as she dosnt recieve complaint calls, roosters and hens are fine. So, if I wanted to, (and I found one who didnt spend all day crowing) I could have a rooster.
