9 silver laced polish eggs.....NO Hatch!

Hey ya'll,
Its me again. Just want to vent alittle. Ordered 9 silver laced polish eggs. Feeling confident about  incubator conditions. Started incubation. Monitered the hatch the entire period. Everyone excited about the unusual lookin chicks that were coming. But after the incubation period......no chicks...jawdrop.....Just wondering if anyone else has ordered eggs and had that experience...and what recourse did they choose..Appreciate any consultation

There's always a risk when you order eggs!!  I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting 100% hatch rate from shipped eggs.

First,  do you know for sure that the eggs were fertile?    You would have been able to tell by candling.

Shipped eggs can be a big problem but you also did not elaborate on what you are using to monitor temps, humidity, what condition the eggs were in when they arrived.

Sometimes a breeder will replace the eggs for the price of postage. But you really need to candle to establish whether the eggs even began to develop.

My candling method might be a little shrewed,I am using a desk lamp. Yes I did candle three out of 9 on the 8th day.and I could see some veins. So I presumed they were ok.I didnt candle anymore..But what could I have done if they had not shown any sign of life..So I continued the incubation.I used a dry bulb thermometer and a thermometer and hygrometer combo.Tryed to keep humidity around 40 to 50% for 18 days,.,,99 to 100 deg...then on the 18th day removed eggs from turner to bottom and increased humidity to 70%..sads

Are you using a still air or a forced air bator? If still air that temp was too low, needs to be up around 101.

One other thing that happens with shipped eggs is ruptured air cells, that's why I recommend candling before setting the eggs. The last time I ordered eggs every air cell was ruptured. Only one began to develop all of the others failed.
