More than just chicks hatching (pics too)

A few weeks ago, I noticed these two Wrens building a nest in my helmet that hangs on the shoe catch-all on the back porch. I sat for a while and watched these two seriously building when I thinkenbulb2. I went out to the chicken coop and picked a ton of feathers, never a shortage of them around here. I placed them on the back porch and then just sat back down and watched. Within a few minutes they found the feathers and you could hear the twittering....

Those two wrens took every feather, one at a time into their nest. Within a day it looked like a downy cave. So the other day I peeked in the nest when Ma was off and there is 3 little teeny weeny eggs in there. I have tried a few times to get pics, but I didn't want to scare her. Today I stood on a bucket and zoomed in and finally got one of her sitting. You can see some of the feathers they have used, but down in the hole where the eggs are is completely feathered . Don't know what the count down for these little chirpy's, but I'm watching.

This is only about 3 ft from my back door.

here is the helmet

Too cute! We usually have a robin or something build a nest in our dog wood, and some wrens nest in our barn. Its so cute to hear the little ones when they hatch.
