Re: chicks for sale new hampshire

Those little silkie chicks are adorable!! I had 2 white silkie roosters given to me, now all I need is to get a nice little silkie hen to go along with them. One of the roos has a romantic crush on my huge buff o hen but there isn't any way for him to ever get the job done  roll considering that once he is on top of her he looks like a baby chick taking a piggy back ride.... lafcry

I see that you are from NH. How do the silkies do in the winter? This will be my first winter with them and I always worry about my chickens in the winter. I keep a heat lamp on in the coop (which is actually in my garage) but it still gets down to freezing most of the time.

Re: chicks for sale new hampshire

hi, i dont heat the coop, the most i do is put a lite above the water bucket to keep it from freezing , makes it a bit easier than having to lug a bucket out there every day so then i have to do it every other.. the silkies do great. i sold 2 hens a few weeks ago,.do have a  pair of buffs that just started laying this summer for sale still..
