Let's see what I can dig up...

I find my New Hamps to be very mellow, sweet girls.  They are friendly and curious, but not in-your-face like some of my other girls.  Good sized, meaty bird, but also a good egg layer.

Broom- your girls are beautiful!!  Do you find they come in a range of shades?  I have one girl that is almost the color of my RIRs, and another girl is so light she's buff colored.

Meghan,
These are the only 2 we have. So Im not sure wether they range alot in color. But would be willing to bet they do, since most other breeds we have looked at do. I just wish our girls were a bit not so skidish. They will come up close but dont want to be rubbed. sad Unless of course there are treats involved... :exc

This is Red..yeah I know how original haha  He was a 4-h bird last year and I saved him from the meat man..Red has a bit of attitude especially when hens are around.. He needs to remember who saved his little butt!

Re: New Hampshire Reds (post pics of yours)

I love the picture of the Red on the Pig's back. They are SO like...mine. They will jump on anyone that will give them half the chance. I just go into the barn and sit down to check things out and Big Bertha (Who looks like the one on the pig in your picture) jumps up on me. If she cannot she will peck at me and tug my clothes until I get low enough for her to jump on me (she's so fat!)

I always thought mine were RS though...I am starting to think they are RRs.

Here are some pictures of them...

They are the nosiest of birds though...always want to hog the camera when I am out taking pics.

She looks like a New Hampshire to me but the two breeds look a lot alike.
They have Great personalities, not into snuggling like a Silkie but they are very sweet girls.
