Out of all the breeds I want to work with this is on the top of my list. I have fallen in love with the idea of getting a 15lbs+ rooster! (I know, I know...it may not get that big but I can hope!
)
Any way is there any thing any one would like to tell me something about the breed that you have witness . I have read alot on them but would love some first hand knowlage.
Thank you,
Shelly

Can't give you any first hand experience on JG's, but they are also at the top of my want list. Everything I have read about them has been positive.
Anyone that is interested in swapping some eggs check out the Wild Egg Chain.

My JG and Ustralorp hens are identicle is size and ver hard to tell apart. She is 1 year now
and maybe 5 or 6 pounds. I think we got a runt. She's friendly and sweet and was our first
hen to lay an egg. JG's should be on everyone's "add a few to the flock list"

Here's my Maggie, a big gentle sweetheart. Don't tell the other girls but she's my favorite.

Pc, they take a long time to mature to full weight, I think it's like almost 2 years.

Shelly, they were at the top of my list, and I got 3. They are beautiful, and had different personalities since they were chicks. They are very layback, not skittish, they seem nosy. When they were babies, they all wanted to sit on me all the time. Then they went thru that adolescent phase where they didn't know I existed. Then they started squatting, and got very affectionate. I love them. I think I'll get a few white ones next.

The first ones I got were kinda scared but the last ones to hatch and not shy at all. When I open the door to the pen where they are there the first ones at the door. Today one cockrel pecked a cocky sebright cockrel and may had left a blood spot but the sebright was attacking a japanese hen so I put him with the ones he was with before. Now he is back with the other ones.
