Does she push them out at first or is it after a while of setting?
Could be she's not ready to brood, could be she senses the eggs aren't right and doesn' want to waste time with infertile eggs or chicks that have died along the way.

She pushes them out the next day. She's been setting for a week or two in the same nest so i think she's broody enough. I think your right and the eggs are just infertile or dead...

Basia, if you want tips on how to make your girl happy, SPOIL her! Feed her plain spagetti noodles, and give her differing roosts to play on! She'll be so happy, she'll be running around like this:

I had my black bearded hen for a while and the other day I found a Sweet Roo on Craigslist :0)
They just belong together!
I hope to have some nice chicks in the spring :0)

My silkie hen's setting AGAIN!
But that's OK-I've got 'er set up in her own nest with a sebrite(or silkie, i dunno) egg and an aussie egg!

OK, marked my silkie girl's eggs with a PENCIL and she has not pushed them out yet! Maybe the black mark was the problem? Dunno, but they've been in the nest 5-6 days and we're do'in good!
