The Puffies were out in the yard today, so I took a few shots of them. They're so silly!
I have Black, Buff, Cuckoo, and White. The white one and one of the black ones are really tame. Ignore Levi with his butt to the camera and his frizzle brother...
I've given the white one the much uninspired and highly unoriginal name Snowball.

I haven't named my Cuckoo yet...I'm waiting for a name to come to me.
The Buff, Cuckoo and White came from Sassy Silkies. The blacks came from BamaChicken.

Do you people bathe and groom your silkies. My two full grown silkies live with the
standard hens and are stinky little mops.
Our 3, 4 week old chicks are clean and in the kitchen.
I'm gonna build a new coop soon just for the silkie flock. I didn't want to
do it but every time I resist I get an electrical shock. Can't figure it out.

Nope, mine have never had a bath. They get the occasional poop smear, but it never seems to last long. I think it must get washed off with the morning dew or something. You should see them first thing in the morning...they have serious bed head. I let mine free range in the yard during the day, so maybe that's why they don't get moppish.

Here's my one silkie chick at 4 and a half weeks. No idea if it's really pure silkie or what the color combination is. Just now starting to look a little fluffy
