Dominique Chicken Dominique Chicken are considered the oldest breed in the United States, the first breed recognized by the APA, they are "The" United States Chicken. The breed developed on its own from ferrel chickens that had been brought to the Americas. Also called Dominicker, The breed gave rise to the more Common, Barred Plymoth Rock, and more then likely a host of other breeds.
